Yesterday I put my work up for the UNDERCOVER Exhibition at Nexus Art Cafe in Manchester's Northern Quarter. The opening is on Thursday fromm 7pm - there will be a few fun activities - check out each artists personal statement on the Nexus website and the facebook page...

Embroidery Magazine

Check out page 33 of the Nov/Dec issue, It's their annual round up of thier favourite graduates from this year. Roanna Wells, Annie Harrison and Alice Brown from my course were also inluded in the round up!

A Cheap Affair

I will be holding a stall with my mates Laura Gee and Alex Humphreys at the christmas 'Cheap affair' which is held by Cheap magazine at the Islington Mill in Saldford. It's the second one ever and i think it's going to be the perfect opportunity for everyone to get some decent christmas presents (myself included). We'll be selling some super merchandise including paper prints, printed t-shirts and bags, and handmade badges etc.

Shrieking Violet Zine

I did this comission for the cover of the fourth issue of Shrieking Violet Zine, which will be distrobuted around Manchester in the coming weeks. You can pick up a copy of it in Picadilly Records amongst other placed (i dont know where exactly quite yet) it is FREE so go get yourself one (in black and white), or you can download it from the shrieking violets blog (in colour) more details to come soon...

I had this studio for august and september - did some drawings and stuff - now it's backin the safe hands of Hannah Rayside...

Degree show & News

So this is what my degree show looked like in the end - i did a couple of extra drawings for it which i was super pleased with and got some pretty good feed back about everything. I am going to be featured in the Nov/Dec issue of Embroidery Magazine in their annual round up of new textiles graduates, so look out for that coming out soon! 

A bit of an update...

At long last i have got the internet! so here are the pictures from the YES IT IS stall at the Trade City Art Car Boot fair in Manchester (better late than never) 

We set up our stall with our merchandise up front and our dioramas at the back, I think we were all pretty please with our work, though the turn out for the event wasn't quite as good as we hoped! It was definitely a learning curve...

Camp Yellow also joined us under our bit of shelter as the weather wasn't quite as good as we had hoped - check out their work on my 'comrades' list below, they're a super talented group of illustrators, so we were glad to have them on board!

I sold some hand printed t-shirts, and tot bags, plus hand cut felt badges and postcards which are all soon to be available from my Etsy shop

Anna Beam and Laura Gee were selling their prints and hand made goods too, as I mentioned before you can check their blogs out on my 'comrades' section at the bottom of the page! 

 

ANTIFREEZE

Four of us from the Yes It Is collective have been selected to take part in the AntiFreeze art car boot fair in Manchester which is taking place next weeked on 4th July.

My work will be sitting along side the works of, Laura Gee, Anna Beam and Georgina Sullivan.

Each of us will be of us will be making dioramas of our individual works for passers by to have a tiny peak at what we do. We will aslo be selling some of our drawings, home made zines, t-shirts and bags. Come and check out our stand - I cant wait!
